URSULA KOERNER: A Life of Learning, Teaching, and Connection
Ursula Koerner, originally from Rochester, New York, has led a rich and dynamic life shaped by a passion for language, education, and helping others. Her journey with French began in high school, where she discovered a love for the language that inspired her to continue her studies in college. This passion culminated in an immersive experience during her junior year, when she spent a transformative year studying in Besançon, France.

After completing her college education, Ursula embarked on a 25-year career in the travel industry. She moved to Virginia, where one of her key roles involved serving as a training specialist for various travel companies. Her expertise in training and facilitation eventually led her to a career in local government, where she honed her skills in team building and empowering others.

Her dedication to fostering connections and promoting learning took a new direction when she began teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). Over the years, Ursula has taught students from diverse backgrounds, including South Korea, Iraq, Brazil, and Central America. Inspired to deepen her knowledge, she pursued and earned a master’s degree in organizational development, which prepared her for a rewarding role in the federal government as a trainer and group facilitator.
 
Following her retirement, Ursula relocated to Florida to be closer to her two sisters. She now enjoys a vibrant lifestyle, indulging her love for the French language through television programs, attending classes at the YMCA, and cherishing opportunities to meet new people.
 
From her beginnings in Rochester to her impactful career and fulfilling retirement, Ursula Koerner's life reflects her commitment to lifelong learning, cultural exchange, and building meaningful relationships.
